Anita Traci is a rising star within the independent house music scene. Inspired by both her love for 90s RnB and her (more recent) admiration for house and dance music, the London-based talent has made a name for herself without a label. Taking inspiration from her Dad, who used to be a DJ, Traci started producing music during the 2020 global pandemic. Having had no experience with digital production, Traci took advantage of the abundance of online courses offered during quarantine. Within 2 years, she had mastered the art of both production and promotion. Using social media to platform herself, she has established herself well on ‘X’ (aka, twitter). Through this, she has been able to connect with the likes of the BBC, featuring on BBC radio, Kiss FM and Capital radio.
It’s easy to see how she has been successful within the indie scene. When speaking to Anita she was full of life, with a personality reminiscent of the late Amy Winehouse. A mix of London charm and unique talent has helped establish her as a charismatic character within the industry. She takes a no-nonsense approach, with a firm but fair attitude, which is hard to find nowadays.
When speaking to Traci, it became clear that her personality has been shaped by her sister-in-law, of which she turns to for advice regarding her music. A blunt, caring and honest character, Traci won’t release a track without this running it past Natasha first. Traci explained that she “appreciates positive and negative feedback” and that “honesty is the best policy”.
What’s really admirable about Traci is that she doesn’t tie herself down to one genre. Her latest release, “GIMMIE TEMPO” explores an energetic, dynamic sound which can’t be pinned down. It’s certainly paid off, featuring a catchy chorus and a rhythm, Traci has smashed it out the park once again.
Exclusive to Media Muck, Traci has revealed plans for an EP sometime near Christmas.
So, if you’re looking for a talented, down to earth artist, look no further than Anita…
